• About the Battery Exchange Program

    • Asurion has determined that some replacement BlackBerry® devices may have contained a potentially counterfeit BlackBerry-branded battery which, in rare cases, may overheat.

    • As part of Asurion's on-going commitment to our customers' peace of mind and safety, Asurion is conducting a battery exchange program. The program is free of charge to customers who may have received a potentially counterfeit BlackBerry-branded battery with their Asurion-provided replacement device. This battery exchange program is limited to potentially counterfeit BlackBerry-branded batteries; genuine BlackBerry batteries are not affected and are not covered by this program.

  • How to determine if you are eligible

    • Remove the battery cover from your Asurion replacement BlackBerry device

    • Compare the battery to the images below

      Images in Group A: If your battery has an Everwin logo with letters "EW" within a blue circle on the battery or a Sprint logo on the battery, your battery is not impacted and no further action is required

      Images in Group B: If your battery has a BlackBerry logo on the battery, there is a potential that your battery is impacted and an exchange should be requested using the "Make a Request" button on the left side of this page

    • If your battery does not look like any of the Group B batteries, no further action is required.
